Often the news will stories showing how to get the most money out of selling things on eBay. If you are a person who has seen these stories but have never tried eBay here’s your chance.

What is eBay

eBay in general is a buying and selling site. It really is a big garage sale. You can find anything on eBay and can sell almost anything. Things you cannot sell are illegal items.

PayPal

To become a seller you just have to sign up. Then you will need to sign up for PayPal if you want to make selling much easier. Selling on eBay is virtually impossible without having a PayPal account. PayPal is a free service that is needed if you want to become a seller. The only down side to PayPal is there is the tax on all incoming funds to you account.

Start Selling

After you have set up your eBay account with a username and have a working PayPal account you can start selling. To start selling you click on the sell tab on the top right. From here you will be taken to a menu that shows_________________________ You

Product Description

After finding a product description matching your product __________ or making a new one you can move on. The net section you will add a title to your item. Pick a title that is eye catching not something bland. NEW Factory Sealed Never Used. The title is the first thing a potential customer sees.

Adding Pictures   

After that you will need a picture. Pictures are a must. If your product in a video game probably find a picture o that eBay provides. IF you are selling a  new phone or camera or appliance item it doesn't matter if you just find a product picture. Now if the item is used it is often better to take a picture your self so the customer sees what the item looks like.

Shipping

Shipping is the last toilsome thing to decide on. You will have to decide what service you will ship the item UPS, Fed EX, DHL, USPS, etc and then what type of shipping overnight, first class, parcel post, library, etc. After that you will need to decide how much to charge the buyer. Unlike Amazon where each product has the same shipping rates eBay it is the seller who decides. One seller might ship. Typing of the Dead for $2.99 while another copy might ship for $3.25. Just remember the higher the shipping the less likely your item will sell.

    Then you have many shipping options other than the carrier and method. You can set discounts on shipping for each additional items bought from the same buyer. You can combine shipping for buyers that buy more than one item from you. Or you can just charge shipping for each items item which most buyers do. 

eBay's Flaws

Before we can end this review we must point out eBay's biggest flaw for sellers. This is payment for items. An item might sell on Monday, but the seller cannot package it up and ship the item until the buyer pays for it. Unlike Amazon, the seller does not get the payment and address until the buyer pays for it. With Amazon when something sells the buyer already has the money in their account and the buyers address. eBay causes much annoyance with the buyer being able to pay for it whenever. Many of the times we have had to wait up to a week before a buyer pays for the item.
